Both ends of a Coupling have female ends. Typically, it is used as part of an assembly for stationary shrub adapters especially when the sprinkler is going to grow because it’s next to a bush that’s going to grow.

When using low-flow rotating nozzles in above-grade shrub adapters, our LittleValve shrub adapters cannot be used because the filter screens for rotating nozzles do not fit. Hence, LittleValve Couplings are attached to the end of the 1/2″ riser pipe coming up and out from below the soil. Then a 2 inch nipple is connected to the Coupling, which is then topped with an ordinary shrub adapter (OMS) or (OFS) to accommodate the rotating nozzle. You now have total control over the nozzle from the LittleValve IFR on the side of the Coupling.

The 1/2 inch Couplings are also used under above-grade rotors and impact sprinklers with 1/2″ threads for distance control rather than using the rotor’s diffusion screw that always changes and distorts the rotor’s arc pattern.
